Dungeon Rampage Remastered Beginner Guide

Dungeon Rampage Remastered is a fast, room-based action RPG for one to four players. Pick a hero, clear dungeon waves, collect rewards, and invest in the strengths that make that hero useful. This guide separates confirmed 1.0 systems from community tactics so a new player can start without relying on old Facebook-era advice.

Start with movement, survival, and one reliable attack

Your first goal is consistency, not a perfect build. Learn the attack rhythm, keep moving between enemy swings, and save healing or defensive options for rooms that lock the party in. A hero at zero health contributes nothing, so surviving an unfamiliar boss is worth more than chasing one extra damage window.

The 1.0 update added configurable keybinds, controller support through Steam Input, VSync, an FPS setting, and a rewritten GPU renderer. Set controls before committing to a long session, then test them in an early dungeon.

  • Choose one hero and learn its basic attack range.
  • Break containers and scan the whole reward room before leaving.
  • Upgrade a primary strength before spreading points across every stat.
  • In co-op, revive safely and avoid pulling separate groups.

Build around the hero’s actual job

The eight-hero roster covers melee pressure, ranged damage, magic, support, traps, spirits, fire damage, and mobile bruising. A sensible early build reinforces what the kit already does. Berserker and Dragon Knight can lean into close-range durability; Ranger and Vampire Hunter reward deliberate ranged positioning; Sorcerer and Pyromancer benefit from managing their resource and burst windows.

Steam achievements expose long progression milestones at levels 5, 20, 50, 80, and 100. Treat level 100 as a long-term target rather than a prerequisite for useful play. The current build page records community-tested allocations separately from official facts.

Make co-op easier, not louder

Official store material confirms online co-op for up to four players. A balanced group does not require four different classes, but it does benefit from clear roles: someone controls the front line, someone handles distant targets, and at least one player watches revives and team recovery.

Keep the group on the same screen of action whenever possible. Splitting attention makes telegraphed attacks harder to read and can scatter loot or enemies. If a teammate is down, clear immediate threats before starting a revive instead of repeatedly cancelling it.

A practical first-session route

  • Confirm display, FPS, VSync, audio, and keybind settings.
  • Complete early rooms with one hero before changing characters.
  • Spend points toward one coherent role.
  • Try co-op after you understand your hero’s escape and recovery tools.
  • Use the gold and XP page as a comparison method, not a promise of fixed rates.

Quick answers

Is Dungeon Rampage Remastered multiplayer?+

Yes. The official Steam page lists online co-op for one to four players.

What hero should a beginner use?+

There is no officially designated beginner hero. Pick a range and role you enjoy, then reinforce that hero’s strengths instead of distributing points randomly.

Does old Facebook advice still work?+

Some concepts may carry over, but specific balance values, drops, and builds should be treated as unverified until reproduced in the Remastered version.
